“Change is possible at any age, and neuroplasticity is the brain’s way of rewiring itself to cope, learn, and heal.” – Gabor Mate
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines principles from a goal oriented and future focused psychotherapeutic approach called Solution-Focused Brief Therapy with techniques of hypnosis. It is designed to help clients achieve positive change by focusing on solutions and desired outcomes rather than analysing problems and their origins.
Understanding how the brain functions is the first step towards making meaningful changes. That’s why educating clients about how their brains work is a core aspect of Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy. Our brains have the remarkable ability to rewire themselves by forming new neural connections, a phenomenon known as neuroplasticity, and this is precisely what we harness in our approach.
Hypnosis in Solution Focuse Hypnotherapy is used as a tool to facilitate relaxation and access the subconscious mind. The hypnotic state is characterised by deep relaxation and heightened focus, making clients more receptive to positive suggestions. This can help reinforce the desired changes and support the client’s goals.
The relaxation techniques and focus in hypnosis activate the parasympathetic nervous system promoting relaxation, recovery and energy conservation by slowing the heart rate, lowering blood pressure and reducing stress hormones.
It is a completely safe and natural state that we go into many times a day. Its lightest form could be compared to day dreaming and a deeper state of hypnosis is similar to when we are on the verge of dropping off to sleep.
